About Me

My photo
Roughly 1/3 of a century old. I am a father of two, and a very lucky husband to my beautiful wife Jennifer. We are all very active, and love the outdoors. We camp, hike, and geocache as a family. we have 16 or so pets, ranging from a black widow to toads to snakes canines and everything in-between. We are active Catholics and attend mass regularly at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Amarillo Texas. My wife is very active in the Parish, and volunteers with our friends "The Sisters of Prayer Town" the Nuns of the order "Disciples of The Lord Jesus Christ". Jennifer has had Leukemia for about 6 years now, and has been kicking it's A$$. Now the time has come for a bone marrow transplant. Pray for us, and God Bless.

How to Stuff Your Dragon; "Toothless" the Night Fury

Well, After finishing the candy cane, and shark plush I decided my next attempt would be to make the dragon from the movie "How To Train Your Dragon". I tried at first to make my own pattern, but found it severely lacking. I preformed a quick search online, however, and came up with this: Sewing pattern for Night Fury Dragon. After a bit of hesitation, and a little "project anxiety" I began. I started it on New Year's Day 2011. I am now leading over into the third day of construction. All looks fine, but there is much tedium to hand stitching each and every thread with just a needle, and pair of scissors. We do not currently own a sewing machine, as none of us have ever really had a real interest in serious sewing. If I continue with my little hobby pets, or move to clothing (dresses for the wife & daughter) I'll be purchasing a machine.

Here's where I'm at for the moment:

Now, I've still got tons of work to do, and I have never attempted anything like this before, so I have no Idea how good or bad the end result will be.

When I am finished, I will post final photos of him, and will post the edited video compilation of the process from start to finish, so be sure to check it out on my YouTube channel in a few days.

Happy New Year Yall!
